Q & A

What grades do you serve?
Preschool (ages three and four) through 12th grade.

Is Liberty Classical Academy accredited?
Liberty intends to pursue accreditation through the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) when it is able to do so.

How long will you be at two locations?
The use of two locations is temporary (See maps at Contact Us).  We hope to have a single location as soon as it becomes practical.

What is the student to teacher ratio?
The maximum is 20 students per teacher.

Does Liberty perform ability grouping?
We want children to be challenged at Liberty, so yes, we do incorporate ability grouping in some subjects.  Ask Liberty's admissions director about your child's particular needs (Contact Admissions).

How difficult of a transition would it be for my child to enter Liberty after having begun education in a different setting?
Children from many different backgrounds -- home, public and private -- have successfully transitioned to Liberty.  And, it's never too late to start your child in a classical education.  Our admissions director can put you in touch with parents who have experienced situations similar to yours  (Contact Admissions).

Should I be concerned about sending my child to a "new" school?
Although Liberty is a relatively new school, the excellent results of classical Christian education are well documented by the many school across the U.S. which have been providing this type of education for many years.  Liberty parents are consistently impressed with the education their children receive (see Testimonials).

What athletic programs does Liberty Classical Academy offer?
Liberty values athletics as much as academics and the fine arts.  We have had an athletic director since our second year, and we continue to add sports as students express interest.  Currently, the Liberty program is open to Liberty students in grades 4-12, as well as home-schooled children.   See Lions Athletics for more information.

What do you do about other extracurricular activities?
Currently Liberty offers band and choir as requirements in younger grades and electives in the older grades (see Fine Arts).  Drama is required in all grades, and student newspaper/yearbook is currently an elective in the upper school.  Beyond athletics, extracurriculars include Girl Scouts and upper school Social Committee (See Social Activities).  More activities may be added if student express interest.

What modern foreign language do you teach?
Liberty offers Spanish and German in the upper grades.  Additional languages may be added at a later date.  Students have been shown to learn other romance languages much more quickly (up to twice as fast) after learning Latin.

Do you serve hot lunches?
We do not currently serve hot lunches.  We do however offer parents and
students a per-semester option of restaurant-delivered Mexican every Wednesday, fresh sandwiches every Thursday and pizza every Friday.

Is bussing available?
By law, all students who live in the school district have the option of bussi
ng.  However, doing so would give control of our school hours to the bussing authorities of multiple school districts.  We find the autonomy regarding our hours serves our families better.  We draw students from near and far -- and our parents have created an amazing carpool network.  Again, ask our Admissions Director for referrals!  (Contact Admissions).

Do the students wear uniforms?
Yes.  We believe that uniforms promote a better work ethic and scholarly attitude, as well as a sense of unity among the student body.  Our uniforms are fashionable, modest and easy to launder.

How much is the tuition?
Please refer to the Tuition schedule.

Is Financial Aid Available?
Yes, limited financial aid is available.  Liberty parents, staff and supporters participate in our LCA Golf Classic tuition assistance fundraiser every year, motivated by the desire to help provide this excellent education to other families.  Ask our Admissions Director for details and deadlines.  (Contact Admissions.)
