Every season, the sprinters, long-distance runners and field event competitors of Liberty come home with ribbons. Coach Barry Jass trains his team hard, but he says that in the end, it's their determination that wins.
A True Photo Finish!
It all came down to the final split second . . .
the two front runners of the grueling 1600 meter race found themselves straining every muscle and sinew to seize first place. Liberty's runner had gallantly come from behind to challenge her opponent, and in a last act of gamesmanship, leaned forward to cross the line first. Alas, her adversary won by a toe, as evidenced above. But never has a second place ribbon been so memorable!
